Peter Gallagher, CEO Pete incorporated HITS as Advanced Microfilm Systems Inc. in 1991. He began working in the industry in 1975 as a microfilm sales representative for the local 3M dealer in St. Louis. Anacomp recruited Pete to join them as district manager of a five-state area where he became involved in digital imaging. HITS addressed a need Pete saw to offer digital solutions to manage health information. During his 25-plus years in the industry, Pete has won numerous sales and management awards and currently oversees one of the fastest growing technology companies in the nation. Pete is a graduate of Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville. Pamela Mueller, RHIA, President  Pam has been in the health information management field for 22 years. After graduating from Illinois State University with a bachelor's degree in health information management, Pam accepted a management position with St. Elizabeth's Hospital in Belleville, Ill. To further her career, she accepted the position of coordinator of the Health Information Technology Program at Southwestern Illinois College, f.k.a. Belleville Area College. For most of the 1990s, Pam worked as a Healthcare consultant for a private metro east medical laboratory. In February of 2000, Pam joined HITS as president of the Healthcare division. Walter Polak, Director of Operations  Walter started his career as the Owner/Manager of M&W Construction Company, where he specialized in high density storage systems for hospitals, libraries, and government agencies. Walter's recent projects included, Washington University's Law Library, St. Louis, MO, Cleveland Public Library, Cleveland, OH, St. John's Mercy Medical Archives, St. Louis, MO, and other major health centers in the U.S. and abroad. His responsibilities at HITS include, Coordination of Product Procurement, Production Management, and Project Completion. Julia Hammerman, RHIA, CPHQ Senior Vice President, Certified HIPAA Compliance Officer  Julia is a graduate of Illinois State University. She has worked in Healthcare for more than 15 years. She has more than 10 years experience managing health records and information and more than four years coordinating performance improvement activities in the hospital setting. Additionally, Julia has served on the board of directors for the Illinois Health Information Management Association as treasurer-elect, treasurer, president-elect, and president. She also served on the board of directors for the Southern Illinois Health Information Association, the AHIMA Quality Management Section Board of Directors and the advisory board for the Health Information Technology Program at Southwestern Illinois College. She has spoken on several topics related to health information management and performance improvement at AHIMA in Atlanta and on state and local levels. Brian Polak, Director - Information Systems Brian comes to us from World Wide Technology, Inc., where he served 5 years as Technical Manager, Imaging and Conversion Services. He has designed major imaging solutions for Boeing, Bell-Atlantic, Maritz, Inc., Ford Motor Co., MSD, Defence Finance and Accounting Services (DFAS), Defence Mapping Agency and others, He is responsible for managing the software-hardware configurations used to serve our customer's imaging needs. Brian holds a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Science from the University of Missouri, Columbia.
