HITS has added the capability to digitize radiological films to their ever-expanding array of services. Radiological films are converted using an ACR-compliant film digitizer. Studies conducted by the Mallinckrodt Institute of Radiology and John Hopkins University demonstrate that this film digitizer produces a high quality image with no difference in a radiologist’s ability to make a correct diagnosis when reading from an original film, or these images on a high-resolution workstation.

These digital images can be uploaded into your PACS system, eliminating the need to pull films for comparison studies and the difficulties associated with “dual reading” environments ranging from incompatible lighting and glare to inferior ergonomics.

This new HITS service will improve the efficiency of your radiology department and will free up valuable space which is now needed to house radiological films.
