Lake Regional Health System

Moving Towards a “Paper-Light” Environment

“It is a pleasure to recommend HITS Scanning
Solutions for any outsourcing scanning project.”

Lake Regional Health System (LRHS) partners with HITS Scanning
Solutions to implement a Scanning and Archival Solution.  This interim solution has
allowed LRHS to provide timely health information for patient care while managing
the days not final billed (DNFB) process within HIM.

Previously challenged by paper documents hampering clinical workflow, LRHS
knew we needed to find a way to improve access to clinical data in order to enhance
quality patient care and provide information for timely abstracting for our remote
coding staff.

HITS Scanning Solutions agreed to partner with LRHS by providing on-site
scanning with their staff, which allowed LRHS to redeploy staff members to other
areas within the HIM department to prepare for a permanent archival solution
within Meditech Client Server Scanning and Archival.

HITS Scanning Solutions worked directly with our Information Technology
Department and our LaserFiche vendor to ensure the images could be imported into
the LaserFiche repository.  Six months into the project, more than 3.2 million
images have been successfully loaded into the LaserFiche application.
LRHS has been making great strides as we continue to work toward achieving
a “paper-light” environment.  This could not be possible without the partnership
with HITS Scanning Solutions.  Their technical expertise, creativity, customer
service, professional knowledge of their on-site representatives and the consultive
relationships with staff Registered Health Information Administrators have made
the partnership a success.

LRHS is looking forward to a continuing partnership with HITS Scanning
Solutions for the Lake Regional Medical Management (LRMM) clinics to ensure a
smooth transition to a permanent electronic medical record.  It is a pleasure to
recommend HITS Scanning Solutions for any outsourcing scanning project.

Sincerely,
