Q. What is the standard format used to store images?
A. The scanned images can be stored in many different file formats, such as Tiff, PDF, JPG, PNG, etc.
Q. How much disk space do I need?
A. This is determined prior to the image conversion process and is determined by the volume of documents.
Q. Will I need to purchase special software to become a HITS customer?
A. Clients use their existing software to view the images. If your office, company or organization uses Windows 95, 98, ME or 2000, the Kodak Imaging for Windows software is already i nstalled on your PC.
Q. Does HITS have the cability of scanning large and small documents?
A. Yes. We scan various size documents from index cards to blueprints. HITS has the capability of converting blueprints, plat drawings, aerial maps or any other drawings up to 48 inches in width to digital format.
Q. What is OCR?
A. Optical Character Recognition, usually abbreviated to OCR, is the mechanical or electronic translation of scanned images of handwritten, typewritten or printed text into machine-encoded text.
Q. Do you store the documents on tape, CD or DVD?
A. stores the images on tape, CD, and DVD. We also offer Secure FTP transfer and electronic import.

A. Yes, HITS has state of the art scanners that capture color images.
